About The Event
"Make Today Beautiful" was on a plaque my mom kept in her kitchen soon after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It stayed there until she passed in 2016. Soon after that, we found out about the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and their mission “to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for Survivors" and participated annually in their 5k event in Philadelphia. The Make Today Beautiful 5k/10k Run/Walk is inspired by this event and my mom's positive attitude and fighting spirit.
This fast and flat course begins and ends at Califon Island Park and travels along River Road with portions on the Columbia Trail. Not a runner? That's ok! We welcome walkers for both the 5k and 10k distances. Bring the kids, too - it's an event for the whole family!
Everyone knows someone affected by cancer. We are all aware of the physical, emotional and social impacts cancer has on patients and their families, friends, and community. Please join us in supporting this cause, helping survivors and remembering those we've lost.
